Is the LQ4 the same as LS2?
The LS2 has and all aluminum block where the LQ4/9 is iron. Although they have the same bore and stroke and are interchangable, the crank, rods and pistons are slightly different. Each of the three also come with different heads.
Will LS1 cam work on LS2?
Yes you can put LS1 style cams into 07+ LS2’s. The LS1 cams have 3 bolt holes for retaining the cam driving gear. Your 07 LS2 has a single large bolt in the end of the stock cam, like this. All you have to do to use an LS1 style cam is buy a 3 bolt cam gear with 4x timing lumps on it and get 3x cam retaining bolts.
